There is a special Federal Firearms License called Curio & Relic (FFL003). It means if you fill out a form and pay $30 every three years, you can buy direct firearms over 50 years old or have been put on the C&R list. I started down this path in 2008, when surplus was high and ammo was cheap. Got some great experiences to share.
