Project Deli – Getting Ready for the Great Outdoors
Getting the Delica ready for spending some time in the great outdoors. I love those Australians and the cool stuff they come up with for this van!!!
and so much more
My second JDM import from Japan is the most 4wd-capable machine in the world: a 1997 Mitsubishi Delica with a high roof and cold-weather Chamonix package. Both Goatboy and Glacier will love this fun machine!

There are so many roof racks on every sport utility vehicle and truck out on the road today. Maybe 1% are ever used until now. The Delica gets a new hat!
What’s in a name? A likeness? A brand? I don’t know, and don’t care. I wanted to create something that captures the imagination of those still curious about the world. Like me.
Sure, I put 2000 miles on the Delica with just an oil change. But it’s time to get serious and make this bad ass minivan bullet proof!
You can’t have a minivan without a hitch. It is almost a requirement. I couldn’t believe I found a specialty manufacturing company that was building them in the US!
How many times do you have to bang your head on something (excluding all rock songs between 1984 and 1988) before you fix it? For me, it was about three.
Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) vehicles are wonderful, weird, and quirky in features and functions. This is going to be a memorable ride.
You get this when you follow a QR code on a funky, weird-looking car that has no reason to be in America.
First time I have ever owned van. Or anything with a diesel engine. But at least I have experience with right hand drive.
A friend that I have never met comes all the way from Japan for an extended stay. Good times!
