Dashboard aren’t only for cars. Welcome to my personal Everest.

Well, here are the stats for the last 20 days.  If someone would say I’d b pushing the 200-mile mark in three weeks, I would have called them crazy. The 35,000 feet of gain is starting to look like a Mt Everest number.

Dave’s summer at Glacier Park

My room mate says he really admires my dedication and drive. Or the fact I’m gone so much between hiking and driving he basically has a single cabin all to himself.   I expect my miles to start leveling out as I switch to climbing which will hopefully yield shorter approaches (albeit much more up).  But I may be bumping the 100k of gain this summer if my projections hold. But alas, I have no mileage/altitude goals. Sweet.

I have also driven over 3000 highway miles for the Xanterra employee shuttle so far this season. Which has a pretty low benefit return for the few people I have provided transportation .  But, to quote Longfellow:  “Ours is not to reason why, ours is to but……”  well, maybe not that extreme.  Probably better to just shrug, and ask the obvious:

Who Is John Galt

I’m enjoying getting to know the people working here. Sharing backstories. Everything and everyone is so interesting.   So much to write about I could spend a year on what I’ve experienced in the last few of weeks.  I think going forward I’ll just start posting dashboard updates on Sundays. Not really the end of my ‘weekend’, but hey, I love to give people something to look forward to going as they start their ‘work’ week in the real world. I only say ‘work’ because when people say it around the RV park, I have to try hard not to shake my head and smile.
