Category: GNP 2026 – Gettin the Band Back Together
Would never have dreamed that Mitch would come back (at least so soon) and work another summer as a Red Bus Driver in Glacier Park. And as my roommate. Maybe the crowds in New York City got to him. Many stories to tell!
I’ve always wanted to work a Joni Mitchell song into a blog post, and it could not have been easier. I’m not sure what I think of the new Swiftcurrent parking configuration. It seems like a solution, but to the wrong problem. Have a look and tell me what you think.
My first trip of the MGV in mid-May is one of my favorite moments of the entire year. Very few people. The mountains are familiar, and feel rested and content. Let the crowds begin!
Why do I keep banging my head on the wall with pre-season onboarding housing? Maybe I’m just getting older. But after that whole toilet plunger hanging from a bathroom mirror sconce, I’m done with it.
Glacier Park is more than just West vs East. The northwest corner is amazingly rugged and wild. The wilderness of the Nyak is one of the loneliest places in the world. But driving up the St Mary Valley for the first time in spring always puts a smile on my face.
Accommodations for seasonal employees at Glacier are really hit-or-miss. The verdict is still out on this one, but not for long. Who knows what I’ll find after a week?
